Brigitte Bardot stars in Julien Duvivier’s La Femme et le pantin (The Woman and the Puppet).   The Pierre Louy novel had previously been adapted for the screen in 1929 and in Hollywood in 1935 as The Devil is a Woman, directed by Josef von Sternberg and starring Marlene Dietrich. [ADD]
