The constitutional Council rules that the Creation and Internet piracy law passed by parliament on 13th May is contrary to the Declaration of the Rights of Man because it gives the government the power to prevent internet access to people caught downloading content illegally. [ADD]

Luc Besson announces his intention to build a e30 (£25.6 million) studio in Paris to rival Britain’s Pinewood and Germany’s Babelsberg studios.   Construction is due to begin in December 2009, with completion scheduled for early 2012. [ADD]
