El Fusilamiento de Dorrego, Argentina’s first fiction film, was also 30-year-old Italian-born director Mario Gallo’s first recorded film.   Until this, Gallo’s most famous work, films shot in Argentina consisted mainly of actuality shots of parts of Buenos Aires.   However, Gallo, who arrived in Argentina in 1905, claimed to have made other films before El Fusilamiento de Dorrego, although no records exist of any earlier works.  

El Fusilamiento de Dorrego is also lost.
