1904: Clarendon Film Company Formed
Percy Stow had previously worked with Cecil Hepworth, and left Hepworth’s company to start the Clarendon Film Company with H. V. Lawley. The company produced mainly comedy films which were distributed by Gaumont and, in the pre-war years, grew to be one of the country’s major film companies. It is chiefly remember for the ’Lt Rose’ series. Clarendon’s logo was the abbreviation ‘CFC.’ [ADD]
