8/5/1904: Eadweard Muybridge Dies

Having returned to England from the United States in 1894, Eadweard Muybridge was living at Park View, 2 Liverpool Road in Kingston-upon Thames, the home of his cousin Catherine Smith. He was digging a model of the Great Lakes in the garden when he suffered a fatal heart attack at the age of 74. The house now bears a British Film Institute commemorative plaque.
Muybridge was cremated at Woking St John's Crematorium. The stone marking his ashes misspells his name Eadweard Maybridge while the crematorium register names him Eudweard Muybridge. [ADD]
