February 1904: Pathe's Mission to Moscow

In a concerted effort to access and control the global film market, in 1904 Pathe set in motion a strategy of market expansion by opening branches in a number of capital cities, one of the first of which was Moscow.   The branch operated as an equipment and sales office, as well as renting films to Russian exhibitors.   Branches were soon opened in New York and Brussels.
