5/9/1905: Bjorkmann and
Nylander Form Kristianstad Biograf-Teatern: 24-year-old bookkeeper Gustaf Bjorkman and 49-year-old workshop proprietor Nils Hansson Nylander established the Kristianstad Biograf-Teatern (Kristianstad Cinema Trading Partnership) on 5th September 1905. The theatre they established in Tivoli Street, Kristianstad was just 10 metres long with room for 97 seats and a piano positioned to the left of the screen. The business grew rapidly, and was renamed Svenska Biografteatern upon becoming a limited company in February 1907.
