Israel - Vietnam

– Yerushalayim Segal forms the Moledeth Company to produce Natan Axelord’s The Pioneer, but production folds due to lack of money. [ADD]

The League of Nations adopts a proposal from Italy to form an International Educational Cinematographic Institute (IECI) to be funded by the Italian government. [ADD]

Franco Film buy out the Victorine Studios. [ADD]

Yasujiro Ozu’s first film, Zange no yaiba, is released. [ADD]

– Rupestingas Tevas (The Careful Father), a 3-minute advertising film, is made by Lietfilm. [ADD]

– The Both of Them, a film by Dzuka Berkesh, is released.   It stars Risto Zerdeski-Zerde and Otilia Zampa. [ADD]

– A cinema is opened in Strumica by Gjulap Sulejmanov, while in Resen, Pande Hristovski gives film shows in his home for friends and family. [ADD]

 – The Office of Hygiene in Skopje gives its first public screening of an educational health film. [ADD]

– The newspaper Nasha Stara Srbija (Our Old Serbia) carries regular film reviews by Ljubo Stojanovic. [ADD]

Protestors against the execution of Italian anarchists Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti vandalise cinemas advertising American films. [ADD]

– Chok Sorng chan (Doubly Lucky), the country’s first Thai-directed movie is released.   The film is directed by Manit Wasuwat.  [ADD]

Vietnam

– The country has 30 cinemas, mostly in major cities: Hanoi, Cholon and Saigon each have four, while Hue and Haiphong each have two.  [ADD]
