Andorra

–  Georges Gigo’s La Perversa Caricia de Satan (The Perverse Caress of Satan), is the only film ever to be produced in Andorra to date. [ADD}

Australia

The federal Tariff Board’s report on the film and television industry recommends extensive restructuring of the industry in all sectors.   Ultimately, only changes to the Australian Film Development Corporation are implemented. [ADD}

– The Commonwealth Film Unit is transferred to the newly created Department of the Media and renamed Film Australia. [ADD}

– The Australian Film and Television School is established with federal funding. [ADD}

Bolivia

– Filmmaker Jorge Sanjines flees to Peru following the military coup in Bolivia, where he films El Enemigo principal (The Principal Enemy). [ADD}

Chile

– Film production begins a steep decline to an all-time low following the ascension of the military government. [ADD}

China

- Regular - but strictly controlled - film production recommences with Bright Sunny Skies. [ADD}
