14/10/1884 - Film Takes Shape

On October 14th  of this year, George Eastman, who would go on to build the Kodak brand name, won a patent (No. 306,594) for a transparent paper-backed photographic film.   A year later it was put into production.   The plan was that the film would be cut into narrow strips and wound on a roller device that Eastman had also invented.   Enough film for 100 exposures would then be mounted in a small box camera.  [ADD]
