18/7/1896: Argentina's First Screening
The Lumiere’s Cinematographe premiered in Buenos Aires on the 18th July 1896 at the Teatro Odeon, 367 Emerald Street. It was presented by the theatre’s owner, Francisco Pastor, and Spanish journalist Eustaquio Pellicer. The films screened were the same as those shown at the first ever screening in Paris eight months earlier. [ADD]
