8/7/1896: Brazil's First Screening

Cinema arrived in Brazil on the 8th of July 1896  at No. 57 Rua de Ouvidor, a traditional street in Rio de Janeiro.   The projector was a Lumiere Cinematographe but, for some reason, it was marketed in Brazil as an ‘Omnigrapho’, and the show took place for three weeks. [ADD]
