Egypt's First Screenings
The first screening of films in Egypt took place on the 5th November 1896 (not January ’96 as is often reported) in one of the halls of Tusun Pasha in Alexandria, and was given on a Lumiere Cinematographe. Later that month, another presentation was given in the hall of Hamam Schindler near the old Shepheard’s Hotel in Cairo. [ADD]
