4/4/1896: Auguste Blaise-Baron
On the 4th April 1896, Auguste Blaise-Baron and Fréderic Bureau were awarded a French patent for a sound and image synchronisation system inspired by Edison’s Kinetophone. The sound was recorded onto a wax cylinder, and the device was described as a machine for “recording and reproducing sound and images simultaneously”. Unfortunately, the results of this synchronisation were no more successful than Edison’s early efforts. [ADD]
