1898: Cinema Comes to Bulgaria

Details of the beginnings of cinema in this agrarian state are sketchy, but it is known that the first commercial screening took place in Bulgaria this year, and was staged by Ferencz Echer.   Also active in Bulgaria at the same time was showman Vladimir Petkov. [ADD]
