Schweiger Feels the Heat

Til Schweiger not only starred in Keinohrhasen , but also wrote, produced and directed.   Given a general certificate by film ratings agency Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle der Filmwirtschaft, the film proved to be a domestic box-office hit, but Schweiger suffered a backlash from irate parents.

 Schweiger protested in an interview with Bild am Sonntag that ‘I had thought the film would get a rating letting only kids 12 and up in, while Birgit Goehlnich, head of Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle der Filmwirtschaft commented that ‘Our task is to make sure that the physical and spiritual well-being of children at a certain age won't be harmed.   It all depends on the balance of a film overall and individual scenes. But at the end of the day there is no such thing as an ‘objectively correct’ decision.’ [ADD]
