Til's Choice Awards

Schweiger announced his plans for a new award after leaving the German Academy in January when it refused to consider Keinohrhasen, which had been top at the domestic box office for seven weeks, for its nomination pre-selection, complaining that it mostly nominates ‘films that no one has ever heard of.’   Winners of Schweiger’s new awards would be chosen by the public, either online or in cinemas.  The director promised more details in April, including the Award’s name and sponsors.
