Tsurugidake Technician Killed

Sound Technician Teiichi Saito was working apart from the rest of the cast and crew of Tsurugidake as he recorded sounds, and was unable to hear their warnings because he was wearing headphones.   He was helicoptered from the site to a nearby hospital. 

The film he was working on for director Taisaku Kimura was based on Jiro Nitta’s novel about and expedition to climb the treacherous Tsurugidake mountain in 1907.   The film stars Tadanobu Asano, Teruyuki Kagawa, Koji Yakusho, Toru Nakamura and Ryuhei Masuda. [ADD]
