Fears Grow Over Fitna
In an interview with the Associated Press, General John Craddock said, ‘It's a problem of extremists; they want to use this to their advantage, whether it's rational or not.’ Craddock was particularly concerned about attacks on Dutch troops: ‘It would be unfortunate if soldiers of that nationality are held responsible for something they had nothing to do with.’
Meanwhile, in the Dutch parliament, Justice Minister, Ernst Hirsch Ballin, criticised Wilders for making the security services’ job more difficult by declining to reveal the content or release date of the film. Because Dutch broadcasters declined to screen the film, Wilders announced he planned to release it on the internet before the end of March.
