Puttar Beats Potter

The case brought by Warner Bros against Mirchi Movies was dismissed by the Delhi High Court because Warner Bros had known the title of the film since 2005 but had waited until the last possible moment before bringing the case. The court also decided that readers of J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books would be sufficiently knowledgeable to realise that the Hari Puttar film was not associated with the Harry Potter books.
The result meant that the film could be released in India on Friday 26th September, two weeks afters its initial planned release date of 12th September. [ADD]
