11/2/2009 - Fonda's Anti-Vietnam to be Film Re-Released

Jane Fonda’s controversial anti-Vietnam War documentary was released in 1972 in the same week that the actress, who had emerged as a prominent political activist in the 60s, paid a visit on opposition forces in Hanoi, North Vietnam as part of an Fta tour organised with the help of Donald Sutherland and Fred Gardner.
Following the film’s swift withdrawal from circulation, its director Francine Parker blamed its disappearance on pressure from the US government and the film was not available to the public for 37 years until Docudrama Films announced they were planning to release the film on DVD later in 2009.
