45-year-old British actress Natasha Richardson, the daughter of Vanessa Redgrave, received an apparently minor head injury after falling during a ski lesson at Mont-Tremblant near Montreal on Monday 16^th March.   Although she wasn’t wearing a helmet, immediately after the accident the actress said she felt fine and paramedics were turned away from the scene, but Richardson later complained of a headache and an ambulance was called to her luxury hotel.   From there, the actress was transported to a hospital in Montreal before being flown to the United States where she was taken to the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York with swelling of the brain.

 The actress’s husband, Irish actor Liam Neeson, left the set of his latest film to be by his wife’s side, but it soon became apparent that Richardson stood no chance of recovering from her injuries and her life-support system was switched off after her family had said goodbye. [ADD]
