24-year-old computer technician Ho-Chun Sze was charged with stealing 1,300 photographs showing B-list movie star Edison Chen engaging in sexual liaisons with at least half-a-dozen women from the actor’s faulty laptop which had been left at the computer repair shop where Sze worked for repair.   Chen’s career subsequently imploded when the snaps were then posted on the internet, and the actor announced his temporary retirement from entertainment in 2008 before fleeing to his childhood home in Canada.   The technician was found guilty of three counts of obtaining access to a computer with dishonest intent at Hong Kong’s Kowloon City Court and sentenced to 8½ months imprisonment.

Sze’s lawyers immediately announced that they would appeal the conviction. [ADD]
