Police in Mumbai carried out a number of arrests in late September 2009 after the master prints of Ashutosh Gowariker’s What’s Your Rashee and another film called Fast Forward were stolen from Adlab’s processing laboratory on 21^st September.   People arrested included UFO Moviez associate vice president in charge of digital mastering, Rajesh Chowdhry; Neerav Shah, Big Cinemas’ manager of overseas distribution, Durgadas Bhakta, the processing manager at Adlabs, and Kalapi Nagda, the head of overseas distribution at Shemaroo Entertainment.   Chowdhry was swiftly fired from his position at UFO Moviez following his arrest.

 UTV Motion Pictures subsequently demanded compensation within seven days of Rs500m (approx £6.5 million) each from UFO Moviez and Adlabs for ‘abetting piracy and infringement of copyright.’   Reliance Big Pictures issued a statement saying ‘Anybody found guilty of any wrongdoing as far as the law of the country is concerned will be strictly dealt with'.
